Beautiful Bealin Cross. Made by Mullingar Pewter, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath Ireland. 8" long and 4 1/4" wide. Comes with explanation card. Card reads: The Bealin Cross The High Cross at Bealin, near Mullingar was erected at the end of the 7th century and is the only one of its kind which is accurately dated. It is in the tradition of Iona and Clonmacnoise and was removed from Clonmacnoise to its present site during the 18th century. |
