The Killamery Cross is a 12 foot high sandstone cross found in the old churchyard of Killamery close to the Callan-Clonmel road. The center section of the cross has knotwork turning into tow dragons and another set of dragons ends in a spiral, signifying creation and spiritual growth. The knotwork symbolizes continuity, eternal life and expresses the interconnectedness of all things. Dragons are thought to have knowledge of the world, they protected the earth and all inhabitants.
